Description
When your old Ford tractor starts missing or running rough, nine times out of ten it’s the ignition system calling for help. A worn distributor with old points, a tired condenser, and a cracked rotor can turn a dependable work horse into a cranky machine that leaves you stranded in the field. This complete tune-up kit gives you everything you need to get that reliable spark back.
What You’re Getting
- Complete points, condenser, and rotor replacement – no hunting around for individual pieces
- Feeler gauge included so you can gap the points properly the first time
- All the critical wear parts that typically fail together in one convenient kit
- Direct replacement components that fit like the originals did
Built for Real Farm Work
This kit works on Ford and New Holland tractors equipped with front-mounted distributors – the older style ignition system that’s been keeping these tractors running for decades. Whether you’re running a utility tractor for chores around the farm or a larger machine for field work, proper ignition timing and a good hot spark make all the difference in performance and fuel economy.
Made to Last
The points are built to handle the constant opening and closing that controls your ignition timing, while the condenser smooths out the electrical flow to prevent arcing and premature wear. The rotor distributes that spark to each cylinder at exactly the right moment. These aren’t the cheapest parts you can buy, but they’re the ones that’ll keep working when you need them most.
Good to Know
When you’re installing the points, use the included gauge to set the gap according to your manual – usually around 0.015 inches. Clean the distributor cap while you’re in there and check for cracks or carbon tracking. A little dielectric grease on the rotor contact helps prevent corrosion. This is also a great time to check your timing with a light if you’ve got one.
