Description
Nothing’s more frustrating than trying to check transmission oil with a makeshift dipstick or broken cap when you’re in the middle of busy season. This replacement filler cap with built-in dipstick takes the guesswork out of oil level checks and keeps your Ford tractor’s transmission properly maintained. When the original dipstick breaks off or goes missing, you’re left checking levels with whatever you can find—and that’s not doing your transmission any favors.
What You’re Getting
- Combined filler cap and dipstick in one handy unit that won’t get lost
- Clear MIN/MAX markings so you know exactly where oil levels should be
- Vented design that prevents pressure buildup while keeping contaminants out
- Stronger construction than original caps that tend to break at the dipstick joint
- O-ring seal that prevents leaks and keeps moisture from getting in
Built for Real Farm Work
Your Ford 5000, 6000, or 7000 series tractor handles everything from loader work to heavy tillage, and that transmission takes a beating. These workhorses depend on proper lubrication to keep all those gears and hydraulics running smooth. Regular oil checks should be part of your routine, but they often get skipped when the dipstick is missing or you can’t get an accurate reading.
Made to Last
The original Ford caps had a weak point where the dipstick attached to the cap body, and after years of temperature changes and vibration, they’d snap right off. This replacement uses a stronger design with the dipstick molded right into the cap. The measurement marks are etched deep so they won’t wear off like painted ones do.
Installation Notes
Installation takes about ten seconds—just thread it right into your transmission filler opening. Make sure the tractor’s level when you check oil, and the transmission should be warm but not hot for the most accurate reading. The oil should sit between the MIN and MAX marks, and while you’re checking, take a look at the oil condition too.
