Description
When your Case tractor starts using oil, smoking more than it should, or lacks the power it used to have, it’s usually time for a rebuild. This is that moment every farmer knows is coming—your reliable workhorse needs some attention to get back to pulling its weight. This basic engine kit gets you started with the core components you need for a solid rebuild of that 188 cubic inch diesel.
What You’re Getting
- Complete sleeve set with pistons and rings for a fresh, tight bore
- Pins and retainers that secure everything properly and prevent rattles
- Full gasket set that seals up all the leaks once and for all
- Crankshaft seals to keep oil where it belongs—inside the engine
- Standard 3-13/16 inch bore size for most applications without machining
Built for Real Farm Work
This kit works across a wide range of Case tractors from the 430 series utility machines through the 630 series row-crop tractors. These are the tractors that spent decades in corn and soybean fields, pulling implements, running PTOs, and handling whatever you threw at them. Whether you’re restoring a 470 for farm use or getting a 530 back to work, this kit has the parts that matter most.
Made to Last
The Tru-Power components are built to handle the demands of diesel operation—higher compression, more heat, and the constant vibration that comes with agricultural work. The sleeves are designed to maintain proper clearances even after thousands of hours, and the gasket set uses materials that stand up to temperature cycling and diesel fuel exposure.
Good to Know
This is a basic kit, which means it doesn’t include bearings—you’ll need to order those separately based on what your crank and rods measure. Most rebuilders prefer this approach since bearing sizes can vary depending on wear and machining. Check your sleeve flange outer diameter too—this kit is designed for the standard 4.458 inch size that most of these engines use.
